Fer­nan­do Rugitsky is a Pro­fes­sor of Eco­no­mics at the Uni­ver­sity of the West of England in Bris­tol, UK. He pre­vi­ously taught in the Depart­ment of Eco­no­mics at the Uni­ver­sity of São Pau­lo (FEA/USP) from 2015 to 2021. He was a Visi­ting Scho­lar at the Uni­ver­sity of Cambridge’s Cen­tre of Latin Ame­ri­can Stu­di­es in 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in Eco­no­mics from The New Scho­ol for Soci­al Rese­ar­ch and an under­gra­du­a­te and Master’s in Eco­no­mic Law from USP. His rese­ar­ch exa­mi­nes the rela­ti­onship betwe­en eco­no­mic growth, inco­me dis­tri­bu­ti­on, and struc­tu­ral dyna­mics in Bra­zil and other South Ame­ri­can coun­tri­es, focu­sing on the impacts of cli­ma­te transition.
