The Research Center on Macroeconomics of Inequalities (in Portuguese, Made), based at the University of São Paulo (FEA/USP), is dedicated to understanding and discussing the foundations and economic consequences of the multiple aspects of inequalities, especially in the Brazilian reality.
The center’s researchers, in addition to the academic discussion, have the purpose of contributing to the economic debate and to the elaboration of public policies, both through dialogue with civil society and through initiatives that aim to popularize knowledge about the area.
Researchers keep constant contact with the scientific community, presenting papers at national and international conferences, giving lectures, and participating in debates in Brazil and abroad, in addition to being engaged in research initiatives by institutions such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Institute for New Economic Thinking and the Open Society.
