To do so, it esti\u00adma\u00adtes, for the peri\u00adod betwe\u00aden 2000 and 2019, an expan\u00added func\u00adti\u00ado\u00adnal dis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adon of inco\u00adme that inclu\u00addes not only wages and pro\u00adfits but also ren\u00adti\u00ader and govern\u00adment inco\u00adme. It also pro\u00advi\u00addes an inter\u00adpre\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon of the poli\u00adti\u00adcal eco\u00adnomy deter\u00admi\u00adnants of the move\u00adments of the dif\u00adfe\u00adrent sha\u00adres of inco\u00adme. Such an effort con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtes both to the ongoing effort to analy\u00adse the role of ren\u00adti\u00aders in Glo\u00adbal South coun\u00adtri\u00ades and to the extant lite\u00adra\u00adtu\u00adre on finan\u00adci\u00ada\u00adli\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon in periphe\u00adral eco\u00adno\u00admi\u00ades. Spe\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adcally, it shows that the redis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adve effort under\u00adta\u00adken by the Wor\u00adkers\u2019 Party govern\u00adment (2000\u20132016) could not incre\u00ada\u00adse the wage sha\u00adre of inco\u00adme, as the esta\u00adblish\u00adment of mass-based finan\u00adci\u00ada\u00adli\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon impli\u00aded a growing trans\u00adfer of inco\u00adme from wor\u00adker hou\u00adseholds to ren\u00adti\u00aders \u2013 a pro\u00adcess of finan\u00adci\u00adal expro\u00adpri\u00ada\u00adti\u00adon.
