Fernando Gaiger Silveira

Fer­nan­do Gai­ger Sil­vei­ra holds a bachelor’s degree in Agro­no­mic Engi­ne­e­ring from ESALQ/USP, and com­ple­ted a PhD in Eco­no­mics at UNICAMP; IPEA rese­ar­cher sin­ce 1998; Col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve Pro­fes­sor PPGE/UFF. He was an agro­no­mist at ANCA/MST (1987–88), a rese­ar­cher at FEE/RS (1991–98), a coor­di­na­tor at Cadas­tro Único/MDS (2008–10) and a Pro­fes­sor at many ins­ti­tu­ti­ons (UNB, Uni­eu­ro, Faci­plac, Ceub, Unimep).

He works with ine­qua­lity, poverty, redis­tri­bu­ti­ve impacts of taxa­ti­on and soci­al expen­di­tu­re, agra­ri­an-rela­ted topics, and soci­al policy financing.
