Guilherme Klein

Gui­lher­me Klein Mar­tins is a Pro­fes­sor of Eco­no­mics at the Fede­ral Uni­ver­sity of Rio de Janei­ro (UFRJ). He holds a Ph.D. in Eco­no­mics from the Uni­ver­sity of Mas­sa­chu­setts, as well as an M.A. and a B.A. in Eco­no­mics from the Uni­ver­sity of São Pau­lo (FEA-USP).

His rese­ar­ch inte­rests inclu­de macro­e­co­no­mics (fis­cal policy, mone­tary policy, public debt dyna­mics, infla­ti­on, inte­rest rates, exchan­ge rates, and busi­ness cycles), as well as eco­no­mic deve­lop­ment and poli­ti­cal economy.

His aca­de­mic work has been published in jour­nals such as Jour­nal of Deve­lop­ment Eco­no­mics, Oxford Bul­le­tin of Eco­no­mics and Sta­tis­tics, Cam­brid­ge Jour­nal of Eco­no­mics, Indus­tri­al and Cor­po­ra­te Chan­ge, among others. He has also writ­ten opi­ni­on arti­cles for Bra­zi­li­an news­pa­pers such as Folha de S.Paulo, O Glo­bo, O Esta­do de S. Pau­lo, and Valor Econô­mi­co, as well as for inter­na­ti­o­nal publi­ca­ti­ons inclu­ding Pro­ject Syn­di­ca­te, The Con­ver­sa­ti­on, Phe­no­me­nal World, and Aeon Magazine.
