Co-director

Pedro Rome­ro Mar­ques is an eco­no­mist and rese­ar­cher with a Ph.D. in Eco­no­mics from the Uni­ver­sity of São Pau­lo (FEA/USP). He is cur­ren­tly the Co-Direc­tor of the Cen­ter for Macro­e­co­no­mics of Ine­qua­li­ti­es (Made). His work focu­ses on Macro­e­co­no­mics, Poli­ti­cal Eco­nomy, and the Bra­zi­li­an Eco­nomy, with an empha­sis on ine­qua­lity and, more recen­tly, cli­ma­te tran­si­ti­on. His rese­ar­ch explo­res the dyna­mics of dis­tri­bu­ti­ve con­flict in Bra­zil, the effects of fis­cal policy on ine­qua­lity, and the inter­sec­ti­ons betwe­en eco­no­mic deve­lop­ment and sus­tai­na­bi­lity. His publi­ca­ti­ons inclu­de arti­cles in jour­nals such as the Cam­brid­ge Jour­nal of Eco­no­mics and the Revi­ew of Poli­ti­cal Eco­nomy, as well as book chap­ters on the­se topics.
